Crazy wind!

We went out to run quick errand today in 75 mph windy weather, I knew the kids wouldn't have to get out of the car so I wasn't worried about the wind. On our way, a rock or something blew in the wind and hit our rear windshield, it was just a tiny pop so I wasn't worried about it, but when I looked back our rear windshield was still intact, but completely shattered.
The kids started to get a little freaked out and ran up to the front seat with me. About thirty seconds later, the wind kept blowing the glass into the van and totally blew out the rear windshield. We happened to be driving right by our insurance office and so we pulled in to have them help us out, to get the kids out of the car, and to file a claim right away. We ended up camping out there for about an hour and a half. A local glass company ordered us a new windshield that should be in tomorrow. They came and picked up our van, taped up the rear window, then drove it back to the insurance office for us, they were very helpful! I wasn't going to drive anywhere with the kids without a rear window, so i appreciate their help. We should have a new windshield tomorrow. What an adventure!
On our way home, the kids were ultra-sensitive to every sound of huge wind gusts and flying rocks. They were determined that the windows might break at any moment and they didn't want Rowan's window to crash in, so they were prepared to rush in and protect him. Now they think any and all of our windows will come crashing in because of the wind. Oh my! I am praying for all fear to be gone! We are believing and trusting in Jesus' protection and they are all sleeping soundly while the wind continues to blow.

The whole reason I ventured out was to get a suppository for Rowan, he has been constipated for days and it has recently become a reoccurring problem for him. it was consuming him today so he needed to be held constantly. It was quite exhausting until he finally had success.

Both of these 'events' made for an interesting day, I was able to find the humor in it all and was so thankful for the kids being so great through it.
