It has been almost two months since my last update, so I figured I would try to sum up our happenings in one post instead of TONS of posts.
July 8 - Derek turned 30
July 11th or 12 (somewhere in there)- Derek flew to Miami, FL for training for work
July 13 - Rowan turned 2
July 18-22 - Trip to Valdez - Derek had work business in Valdez Tuesday and Wednesday, so we made a family trip of it, stayed in a hotel together and visited with Ann and Kipp and family. My cousin Jason and his wife Debbie and her family were there as well and Uncle Dale, Dalton and Kade were there also. It was fun to see everybody and to spend time together as a family, as always, Valdez is an one of our favorite places to be.
July 29 - Derek went up to the North Slope for business for 3 days
August 3-4 - Derek went to Kenai for work, came home on Thursday evening. It was our anniversary, so mom watched the kids while I surprised him at the airport and we went to dinner to celebrate.
August 4th - Our 11th anniversary!!!
August 12-16th - Derek and I left for a 5 day, 4 night getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Mom and Dad took amazing care of the kids while we were away. We went to Denali National Park for two nights, went on a wilderness tour and attended a dinner theater. Then we went to Fairbanks for two nights, stayed one night with Dale and Jenny and went an amazing Riverboat Tour. It was wonderful to get away and be together!
August 18-20 - Derek went caribou hunting with a few of his good friends and was
victorious in coming home with his first caribou.
August 19 - Adam, Jaime and Geneva moved to Alaska!
August 21 - Packing caribou all day long
August 21-tomorrow - Derek headed out Sunday night for West Virginia for a training for work, we are all very anxious for him to come home.
Needless to say, it's been a busy summer, but a great one as well.
